Happy (almost) Spring!
I can’t believe it’s already March 2026. The days are getting longer, and I’m excited to head into a new season. I hope you’re having a great start to the month!
Here are the LiNK Team updates for the month of March:
Women’s History Month campaign
We currently have a campaign going on honoring North Korean women for Women’s History Month and if you haven’t seen it yet, check out this blog post by our field manager, this webcomic created by North Korean escapee Ju Ok Jeon, and this Instagram post that highlights how a former North Korean doctor is working towards change.
Project for Awesome
For those of you who voted and encouraged your campuses to vote for LiNK for Project for Awesome, THANK YOU! I’m excited to share that we are semifinalists!! I want to give a big shoutout to the team at Emory University for working on a submission video that highlighted LiNK Team activities!
The Power of Information Access in North Korea Screening Guide
The screening guide was sent out a few weeks ago, and I’d love to know if your team has hosted an event using the guide! If you have, how did it go? Every bit of feedback helps us improve and create better resources for you, so please let me know. I’ve attached it below in case you haven’t had a chance to look at it.
Fundraising Competition
The fundraising competition is ongoing! As a reminder, two people from the winning team will win a trip to Los Angeles for LiNK’s LA Gala in October of this year. In order for your team’s funds to be counted towards the fundraising total, they will have to be submitted through a team fundraising page on fundraise.libertyinnorthkorea.org. If your funds are not in by June 30, 2026, we unfortunately will not be able to count them towards the competition. Most schools end in May or early June but we wanted to give a few extra weeks just in case you need to send a physical check to LiNK’s Long Beach office (address: 115 Pine Ave Ste 210 Long Beach, California 90802). If you are mailing a check, please email teams@libertyinnorthkorea.org with the check number so that we can add it to your team’s fundraising page.
Working alongside each of you has been such a joy to me. I’ve gotten to see your creativity, resilience, and heart for the North Korean people up close. I’m really looking forward to working together again this year.
